Catch a Special Halloween Screening of “Frankenstein” at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute

October 25, 2017

The Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) is hosting a special film course in honor of Halloween, called "It's Alive!: Monsters in Horror Cinema." One of the greatest monsters of all time was brewed up in the mind of Mary Shelley when she wrote her iconic horror novel Frankenstein, which was later adapted into a film. As an offshoot of the film course, the Bryn Mawr Film Institute will host a special screening of Frankenstein that's open to film students and the public alike.

Get to the Bryn Mawr Film Institute by 7:15 p.m. sharp on Halloween night to hear an introduction to the film, delivered by the course instructor for "It's Alive." She'll explain some of the context of the novel and the film, then allow you to be swept away into the beautiful black and white movie. If you want to learn more, also check out the BMFI's exhibit at The Rosenbach Museum and Library entitled Frankenstein and Dracula: Gothic Monsters, Modern Science.
