Learn All About Local Beer at the Breweries of the Schuylkill Presentation on Feb. 22

February 14, 2018

A summer vacation in Pennsylvania piqued Rich Wagner's interest in the local brewing scene back in 1980. In fact, he was so intrigued that, after a summer of stopping at various PA breweries, he continued to visit more than 400 breweries around the state over the next seven years. Eventually, he mastered the art of brewing himself at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago and went on to write Philadelphia Beer: A Heady History of Brewing in the Cradle of Liberty.

Needless to say, Wagner is a true expert when it comes to Pennsylvanian breweries. So he's the perfect person to helm the Breweries of the Schuylkill Presentation at the Historical Society of Montgomery County. Starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 22nd, come to the Historical Society to learn all about the breweries sprinkled along the Schuylkill River, from Norristown's Scheidt Brewery to "America's Oldest Brewery" in Pottsville. Admission is free.
