Believe the Buzz: The Annual Beekeeping and Honey Festival Is Worth a Visit

July 11, 2018

If you've ever added a dash of honey to your tea or sweetened up your yogurt with a drizzle of the stuff, you have honeybees to thank. If you like to buy local honey, then, more specifically, you might have the honeybees at Harriton Park to thank. They buzz from flower to hive crafting the natural sugar all summer long. Come to the Annual Beekeeping and Honey Festival at the Harriton House on Saturday, July 21st to learn more about their production process.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the bee experts at Harriton Park invite their guests to try on their beekeeping suits and even help to extract honey from the buzzing hives. Along the way, they highlight the importance of the honeybee in the local ecosystem and food supply. Although the event is free, all guests are required to RSVP online.
