It’s Almost Time for the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade

November 14, 2018

The Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade bills itself as the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the nation, which makes sense, given that Philly is where the nation was born. For almost a century, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a tradition. People line up along the streets of the Ben Franklin Parkway or tune their TVs to ABC (the channel showing the parade since the ‘60s) to enjoy the parade each Thanksgiving.

Set your alarm for 8:30 a.m. on your day off and tune into the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade while you bake pies or prep the turkey. Just like every year, 2018’s parade boasts a large lineup of over-the-top floats rolling along a 1.4-mile stretch of the Parkway in Center City. You can also expect to see Philly-born recording artists, dancers, marching bands, and other performers in this year’s Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.
