The Eastern State Penitentiary isn’t the only site of spooks this Halloween in the Philly area. Glen Mills’ very own Bates Motel is popping up again in Glen Mills—and, according to the Travel Channel, it’s one of the scariest Halloween attractions in the country. A mix of animatronics, pyrotechnics, and pro actors makes the haunted house and hayride well worth the trip to Glen Mills. It’s just one of Philadelphia’s many spine-tingling Halloween events.

Head to Midtown Village if you want to enjoy Halloween with a side of booze. The neighborhood is welcoming two pop-up bars now through November 3rd: Haunt and Nightmare Before Tinsel. While Haunt promises Black Cat cocktails and other festive libations, Nightmare Before Tinsel brings the spooky vibes to a century-old former jewelry shop with tons of Halloween decor and a strong suggestion to come in costume.
