Try These Substitutes When You’re Missing a Key Cooking Ingredient at Radwyn Apartments!

June 11, 2015

Chances are that there has been a time when you realized you were missing a key ingredient while you were in the middle of making a dinner dish or dessert at Radwyn Apartments. The next time you're without a necessary ingredient, give these substitutes a try:

  1. If you're out of soy sauce: Continue to make that stir fry with this substitute for soy sauce. Just mix one tablespoon of water with four tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce.
  2. If you don't have any eggs: As hard as it may be to believe, a half of a banana mashed with a half teaspoon of baking powder will take the place of eggs.
  3. If you're missing vinegar: To replace the vinegar in a recipe, use one-third cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice or a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar.
  4. If you're out of mayonnaise: Put one cup of yogurt, cottage cheese, or sour cream in a blender to replace one cup of mayo.
