Chanticleer Reopens for the Season Today

March 28, 2018

An outdoor library fashioned from stone. An Asian forest filled with vibrant flowers. A gurgling creek lined with emerald grass and blue-flowered quamash. When you step into the gardens at Chanticleer, it's almost like stepping into another world. And since this private garden reopens for the season today, March 28th, you can now escape the stresses of daily life in this natural oasis.

You won't find anything quite like the Ruin Garden anywhere else. It's not actually a ruin at all, but rather a carefully constructed work of stone that's built on the foundation of the former Minder House, where one of the garden's patrons lived. It consists of a Great Hall, a Library, and a Pool Room, each with fixtures carved from stone. Nearby in the Asian Woods, secret paths and tucked-away seating areas are surrounded by plants and flowers native to Korea, China, and Japan. At Bell's Run Creek, a small body of water rushes through stone-lined banks amid flourishing flora. Come and explore the garden this spring.
