Another year is about to come to a close, and with 2018 right on the horizon, it's time to start planning your NYE festivities. In a city as large as Philadelphia, you have lots of options for partying, but no one should miss one longstanding Philadelphia tradition: the New Year's Eve fireworks along the Delaware River Waterfront.
Each year, Penn's Landing hosts the SugarHouse Casino's New Year's Eve Fireworks display not once, but twice. The first show at 6 p.m. caters to families or anyone who prefers to get to bed at an early hour. The second display splashes across the sky at midnight, actually greeting the New Year with its crackling, colorful explosions. Regardless of which time you take in the show, it's free to attend. Expect to enjoy the fireworks for about 15 minutes.
