If you love to visit the zoo on a sunny spring day, join the group of people who help to maintain it. No, this doesn't mean you'll be cleaning out enclosures—just hit the pavement between them for the Run Wild for the Zoo 5K on Sunday, April 29th. Starting at 6:30 a.m., hundreds of athletes from all over Philly will show their support for the critters who live at the zoo as they jog around it.
Your registration fee ($25+) goes back those animals. It helps to update their habitats, keep them healthy and well-fed, and provide medical care as needed. Keep this in mind while you run past the creatures, more than 1,000 of them in all. Stick around after the run to enjoy some live entertainment, grab a craft beer or an iced coffee, and enjoy the exhibits for as long as you like.
