The Bryn Mawr Film Institute isn’t your average movie theater. It’s a haven for indie and local filmmakers seeking a way to make their masterpieces available to the masses. The Bryn Mawr Film Institute screens these independent films, along with the occasional classic movie, and hosts special events that range from filmmaker panels to educational workshops.
Check out the schedule of upcoming films and events this summer to find something fun and unique to do. On Jan. 6, the Film Institute is screening the classic The King and I, and on Jan. 13, you can watch Denzel Washington guide his football team to victory in Remember the Titans. Come to Open Screen Monday on the first Monday of every month at 9:15 p.m. to see what local filmmakers are working on, or check out the first-run films that are currently making the rounds in the indie circuits.
