Washington, DC may be the American city that's known for its beautiful Japanese cherry trees, which bloom in pops of pink and white splendor each spring, but it's not the only metropolis that plays host to these stunning trees. Philadelphia also enjoys a spring awakening thanks to Japanese cherry trees scattered throughout the city. Come and soak up the sights and scents at The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia from April 7th to the 15th.
The fest consists of events sprinkled all throughout the city and along the Main Line, including the crown jewel, Sakura Sunday on April 15th. Hosted by Fairmount Park's Horticulture Center, this day-long celebration features live Japanese dance and music, a parade of pets, and a Japanese fashion show. You can also explore the Shofuso Japanese House and Garden throughout the day. Admission is $15 the day of the event, but you can snag a deal if you buy your tickets in advance.
