Harriton’s Beekeeping & Honey Festival Returns July 20

July 5, 2019

Honeybees are always buzzing at Harriton Park, and you can get a close look at them (safely) during Harriton’s Beekeeping & Honey Festival 2019, an annual summer event. It’s coming back to the park on Saturday, July 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and adults and kids alike are welcome.

Over the course of the festival, you’ll have the chance to try on a beekeeping suit and actually visit the hives. While you’re there, try your hand at extracting some honey. If you don’t want to get quite that up close and personal with the buzzing creatures, just learn more about them during a talk about the role of the honeybee not only as producers of honey, but as part of the larger local ecosystem. The Beekeeping & Honey Festival is free to attend, but you’re required to make a reservation online in order to be granted admission.
